LINks & HealthWatch: Getting it right for children and young people

Does your LINk want to engage more with children and young people?

Do you want to explore ways to involve children and young people in the transition to HealthWatch?

This one-day training course will help to start involving, or improve your involvement of, children and young people in your LINk, with an opportunity to hear from young people directly. It will also address the tranisition to HealthWatch.

Recent NCB research has shown that levels of children and young people’s participation in LINks varies greatly across England, with some LINks believing that they are not allowed to involve children and young people in their work. There is also concern that the transition to HealthWatch may make it difficult to keep children and young people’s issues on the agenda and to maintain the knowledge and momentum built up within existing LINks.

Why attend?

By the end of this training you will have:

- Shared good practice.
- Developed an understanding of participation.
- Developed an awareness of practical tools for engagement and ways to overcome barriers.
- Reviewed findings from NCB research about young people and LINks.
- Developed an understanding of opportunities for local networking with children’s organisations.
- Explored how children and young people can be involved in the transition to HealthWatch.
